A piano trio with language as a source of inspiration
With this piano trio Janto investigates the peculiarities of language. Trivium describes the trinity consisting of the three linguistic disciplines grammar, dialectics and rhethoric. In order to master a language, one has to combine these three aspects (speaking formally correct, speaking correctly in terms of content / arguing threads spinning, dramaturgically "correct" / excitingly telling). The same applies to music, although the most open question is what the correctness of content means in the case of music.
Janto's compositions for this piano trio are often bitonal, so that Hagen Neye has optimal freedom on bass to follow his open, curious ears and also to play unusual bass tones, which always sound natural and give the pieces their special charm.
